FAQ 1

Can I bring my own dress ideas/pictures?

Of course! You are welcome to bring ideas along to show us what you like. We will help you to try on similar styles to see how they look on your body and we will also offer styling advice.

Can we bring champagne?

YES! Finding the perfect wedding dress is a cause for celebrating! You are welcome to bring your own bubbly and we will provide the champagne glasses.

Do you offer accessories?

Yes, we have a wide-range of accessories in our studio. We make beautiful veils, garters and dressing gowns, as well as ties for the groomsmen. We also stock a selection of jewellery and hair accessories.

Do you offer hiring?

Yes, we do offer hiring on our ready-to-wear dresses. We alter any dress to fit perfectly, so it will look like it has been made especially for you. At our discretion, we may also offer you a make-to-hire option on a custom design if we feel that your measurements and desired style are likely to be chosen by another bride in the future.

How long before my wedding date should I come in for my initial consultation?

There is no such thing as starting the process too early, but most brides tend to visit us about 4-9 months before. This allows for more time to make a decision and will mean that all options are open to you (choosing ready-to-wear or having one custom designed and made). We can, however, accommodate brides with a shorter lead time: we have had brides come in a week before their wedding and walk out with their dream dress! We also have brides who visit from overseas for short periods and leave South Africa with a Robyn Roberts dress. But, if you are a local bride and are able to do so, it is advised to come visit us soon after booking your wedding date and venue. You don’t have to worry about measurements – we will adjust the dress all the way through the process to ensure a perfect fit on your wedding day.

How many people can I bring with to my initial consultation?

Our studio space is limited, and over the years we have found that brides tend to get a bit overwhelmed by having too many people and opinions present. Therefore, we prefer brides to bring no more than 2 guests along to the initial consultation. This gives more space for the bride-to-be to move around in the dresses and to be able to choose her favorite looks with only one or two trusted opinions.
